A Delhi University Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) student landed the highest-ever international pay package of $ 150,000 – or Rs 1.02 crore – in the history of the institution during the campus placements conducted this year.
The highest domestic pay package in the FMS, which recorded 100% placements, stood at Rs 66 lakh per annum – Rs 31 lakh more than last year. The average pay package this year was Rs 20.5 lakh, an increase of 20% from the previous one.
“The highest domestic package last year was Rs 35 lakh per annum, but it has almost doubled this year to reach the Rs 66-lakh mark,” said an FMS official, adding that as many as 210 students had participated in the placement drive this year.

While the average pay package for female students rose by 20% from last year to touch the Rs 20.9-lakh mark, the average package for males increased by 21% to settle at Rs 20.4 lakh. The foremost among the recruiters were EY Consulting (13), Accenture Strategy (9), Star India (8), and ITC (7).
Companies from various sectors – including sales and marketing, consulting, finance and e-commerce – came for the placement drive. “As much as 26% of the batch got placed in consulting roles. FMS saw a 30% increase in the number of finance roles offered to students this year, when compared to the last,” the annual placement report for the 2014-2016 batch stated.

The companies that recruited from FMS in sales and marketing included Adobe, Coca-Cola, GAIL, Heinz, HT Media, Microsoft, Nestle, and PepsiCo.
American Express, Deutsche Bank, Edelweiss, Morgan Stanley, Standard Chartered, Trident Group, Vodafone and Yes Bank were among the firms that recruited candidates from FMS for finance roles.
