The application process for West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE) Teacher’s Eligibility Test (TET) began on Tuesday and will close on October 29. Interested candidates can apply for the TET 2017 (Primary) for Class 1 to V by visiting the websites wbbpe.org or wbsed.gov.in.

The board issued a notification in this regard on Monday.
The state is going to fill around 30,000 teaching vacancies.
Minimum eligibility conditions:
Higher secondary/senior secondary (or its equivalent 10+2) with at least 50% marks and two-year diploma in elementary education
or
Higher secondary/senior secondary (or its equivalent 10+2) with at least 50% marks and four-year bachelor of elementary education
or
Higher secondary/senior secondary (or its equivalent 10+2) with at least 50% marks and a diploma in education (special education) recognised by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
or
Graduation and two-year diploma in elementary education
The reserved category candidates will be provided 5% relaxation of marks in higher secondary/senior secondary or its equivalent 10+2 exam.
Candidates must have secured the minimum academic qualification before the date of notification ie October 9, 2017.
