Janata Dal (Secular)'s candidate Madhusudhan N secured 7,884 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 68.4%, 24.0% and 6.5% respectively.
In Karnataka Assembly election 2013, Bharatiya Janata Party's Dr. Ashwath Narayan C. N. outperformed Indian National Congress's B. K. Shivaram. by 21,066 votes.
