What happened last time

In the 2018 Karnataka Legislative Assembly Election, there were 13 candidates in the fray from Pulakeshinagar constituency. Pulakeshinagar was one of 80 seats won by the Indian National Congress. It was a one way contest with Indian National Congress's R. Akhanda Srinivasamurthy comfortably winning the election upstaging Janata Dal (Secular)'s B. Prasannakumar by a huge margin of 81,626 votes.

The top two candidates split 90.8% of votes between them. Indian National Congress's R. Akhanda Srinivasamurthy got a total of 97,574 votes, while Janata Dal (Secular)'s B. Prasannakumar secured 15,948 votes. Bharatiya Janata Party's candidate Susheela Devaraj secured 9,479 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 78.0%, 12.8% and 7.6% respectively.

In Karnataka Assembly election 2013, Janata Dal (Secular)'s Akhanda Srinivas Murthy.R outperformed Indian National Congress's B.Prasanna Kumar by 10,199 votes.
