Bharatiya Janta Party's candidate Balaganapathy.V.Pon secured 9,537 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 47.3%, 40.5% and 5.7% respectively.
In Tamil Nadu Assembly election 2011, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam's Sundararaj.S beat Indian National Congress's Ramprabu.R by 34,606 votes.
