Uttar Pradesh Election: Faridpur Assembly Constituency 2022

Faridpur is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Bareilly district. People of Faridpur voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on February 14 and the result was declared on March 10.

Faridpur assembly constituency had 3,07,006 electors in 2017, out of which 1,68,679 were male voters and 1,38,327 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.6% votes.

What happened last time

In the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Faridpur constituency had 8 candidates for assembly seat contention. Faridpur was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Dr. Shyam Bihari Lal won the election by upstaging Samajwadi Party's Dr. Siya Ram Sagar by a margin of 24,721 votes.

95.7% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Dr. Shyam Bihari Lal grabbed a total of 83,656 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Dr. Siya Ram Sagar got 58,935 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Vijay Pal Singh bagged 37,680 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 44.4%, 31.3% and 20.0% respectively.

In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Dr. Siaram Sagar defeated Bharatiya Janata Party's Dr. Shyam Bihari by 16,787 votes.
