Uttar Pradesh Election: Mughalsarai Assembly Constituency 2022

Mughalsarai is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Chandauli district. Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 for Mughalsarai will be held on March 7 and the result was declared on March 10.

In Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2017, there were 3,76,517 registered voters for Mughalsarai assembly seat, out of which 2,06,925 were male and 1,69,592 were female voters. 0.5% of voters opted for for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.

What happened last time

In the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election, there were 11 candidates in the fray from Mughalsarai constituency. Mughalsarai was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Sadhana Singh won the election upstaging Samajwadi Party's Babulal by a margin of 13,243 votes.

94.8% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Sadhana Singh grabbed a total of 87,401 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Babulal got 74,158 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Tilak Dhari bagged 57,219 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 37.9%, 32.1% and 24.8% respectively.

In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Bahujan Samaj Party's Babban beat Samajwadi Party's Babulal by 15,440 votes.
