Bharatiya Janta Party's candidate Amal Roy grabbed the third spot with 25,224 votes. The top three parties got 47.9%, 33.1% and 15.6% respectively.
In West Bengal Assembly election 2011, All India Trinamool Congress's Bidhan Upadhyay beat Communist Party Of India (MARXIST)'s Abhas Raychoudhuri by 20,577 votes.
