Mirzapur actor Anangsha Biswas, who plays the role of Zarina in the web series, will be returning as her character in the much-anticipated Mirzapur: The Movie. Anangsha plays a grey character in the franchise, who uses her sex appeal to get ahead in the ruthless political world of Mirzapur. While Anangsha portrayed her character convincingly, she recently revealed that the same role that earned her appreciation also brought unwanted attention, with the actor facing lewd comments and inappropriate messages.

Speaking to Hindi Rush, Anangsha shared that she was deeply disturbed after the release of Mirzapur Season 1 as she started receiving inappropriate emails, with several people approaching her in an inappropriate manner.

She said in Hindi, "After Season 1, I was very disturbed because it was all very new to me. There were comments, strange emails and people commenting on my social media, with the same kind of words being used everywhere. I was a little shaken. I thought my work was my Saraswati and I had done it with complete dedication, so why were people saying these things."

She shared that many people assumed she was like her character in real life as well, which resulted in her receiving deeply uncomfortable emails and messages. "People asked, 'How much would you charge for one night? Come with us to Mauritius for two days, for a weekend." she said. She added that such messages had filled her inbox.

While films being adapted into web series have become common, it is relatively rare for a successful web show to make its way to the big screen. Mirzapur: The Movie continues the story from Season 1 of the popular series and brings together some of the franchise's most beloved and iconic characters, including Kaleen Bhaiya, Munna Bhaiya and Guddu Pandit.

Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Divyenndu and Rasika Dugal are all returning to reprise their respective roles. The character of Bablu Pandit, originally played by Vikrant Massey in the series, will be portrayed by Jitendra Kumar in the film.

At the film's trailer launch, Farhan Akhtar, co-producer of the web show and the film, admitted that the movie had been made following strong demand from fans. He said, “The show is a result of fans' love. They have supported the show from the time it was first released. Amazon took it across the world. Wherever I used to go, people used to ask me, 'Ki Mirzapur kab aa rha hai?' When it was announced, people used to ask me the release date, so it is really the fans that have demanded this movie. We are very happy and grateful to have put it together with the original cast and the amazing new cast.”
