Think yoga is slow and not for you? Well, trainer Deepika Mehta is here to urge you to give the ancient practice a shot. Having spent nearly 10 years learning and practising yoga, she now wants to motivate her audience by demonstrating how to achieve nirvana by using various positions, diets and therapies on Yoga City, her new show on NDTV Good Times.

“People associate yoga with a serene environment, but chaos and stress rule in urban spaces. Our show will depict that one can experience a calm atmosphere and benefit from yoga while living in the city,” says Deepika.

Having been a part of a fitness-based reality show on Sahara One’s The Biggest Loser Jeetega and CNBC’s The Good Life on yoga, Deepika says she isn’t looking to teach yoga, but “wants to inspire the audience to learn yoga. The poses I have done on the show are advanced and not for the uninitiated. People usually think of yoga as a passive exercise and mainly for a mature audience. So even if I reach out to some people and push them to practice it, my goal is accomplished.”
