Creating controversy isn’t new for the 28-year-old comedian. Last year, another AIB roast, which featured actors, Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh, and was hosted by Karan Johar, had received similar backlash. The trolling and abuse must have reminded Bhat of the earlier controversy, which is why he tweeted: “Roast wale din yaad aa gaye by god”.

He certainly generated a lot of interest around Snapchat, directing his 1.37 million followers to the app. And then, in typical Tanmay style, demanded that Snapchat pay him for the traffic.

Responding to the news coverage of the viral video, Bhat tweeted, “Melissandre reference made it to local marathi channels. #globalization”.

Tanmay seems to be in deep trouble, with political parties and online trolls gunning for him. An FIR has already been filed against the comic and Mumbai Police have contacted Google, Facebook and YouTube to block the video.
