Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology
Dance, drama and team spirit defined the mood of Moksha’11 — the annual cultural festival of Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (NSIT). The three-day fest saw many events that kept the student coordinators on their toes. “Moksha is the most-awaited event on our campus. From rain dance parties to competitive events, the fest is full of masti,” says Arpit Saha, a second year student of the college.
The first day of the fest was marked by Mudra – the choreography competition, wild dancing on Bollywood tracks and a fantastic display of fireworks. The Fashion Parade, popularly known as Fash-P, was also much talked about. Day two of the fest kicked off with the television inspired couple dancing event — Nach Baliye, where participants grooved to peppy numbers. This was followed by a Natya Manch, and poetry recitation by poet Dr. Kumar Vishwas. The evening witnessed Avalanche — battle of the bands, while the major attraction of the day was a rocking performance by Viatrophy — a thrash metal band from UK. The crowd went crazy as they roared and swayed to the beats of the band.

Maulana Azad Medical College
The 50th edition of Synapse — the annual festival of Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC) — kicked off with N20, a play on life in college. Day One also saw the rock night, which featured a performance by the popular rock group Astitva. A crowd of 2,000 people head banged till the wee hours of the morning. Day Two saw a music competition and a western dance competition. The five-day gala event was wrapped up with Punjabi singer Mika’s performance and a special appearance by the team of upcoming movie FALTU — debutant actor Jackky Bhagnani, director Remo D’Souza and producer Vashu Bhagnani, who danced to Altu Faltu, the title track of the film.
