In a statement shared on Instagram, Quality Control Music confirmed that Thomas “is alive and currently receiving medical care."

The label added, "We ask that everyone keep P and his family in their thoughts and prayers and respectfully give them the privacy and space they need during this time. We deeply appreciate everyone’s concern, support, prayers, and loving energy right now."

Who is Pierre 'P' Thomas?

Pierre “P” Thomas is one of the key figures in Atlanta’s modern hip-hop scene. He co-founded Quality Control Music with Kevin “Coach K” Lee in 2013 and helped turn the label into a major force in the music industry.

Thomas played a key role in the careers of artists including Migos, Lil Baby and City Girls.

In a 2023 interview with XXL, Coach K reflected on how much the music industry had changed since Quality Control Music launched in 2013.

He said, "In 2023, it’s different from when we started in 2013 because now, A&R is really heavily watching the stats. Ten years ago, you could name the rappers that was out. Ten years later, 2023, I don’t know if I’m wrong when I say this, but I think every Friday at the turn of a store, the DSPs, it’s something like 200,000, 300,000 songs come out. It’s a lot. So, you gotta be able to really strategize to cut through the noise."
