As the music industry gets back on it’s feet in the Covid era, there’s one sector that is still yet to get revived properly: live shows, which are the major source of earnings for almost every performer. We ask Shilpa Rao, who herself used to do a lot of them before the pandemic took over, and she says it will take time.

“I am sure even if logistics work out, we will take some time to warm up because there’s been such a gap that we have not been on stage. Suddenly, seeing more than three people, you freak out. No matter how chill you are, at the back of my mind, I always have this thing that more number of people is not safe,” she says.
The 36-year-old, who has crooned chartbusters such as Bulleya and Ghungroo, adds that everyone wants a solution to it indeed. “Human beings are capable of change, that’s the one thing which sets us apart from other species. I hope the change is for good, we can mend those mistakes we have done over the years, and learn from this crisis. Atleast we could get over it and become empathetic, I really hope that. I am looking forward to concerts, and dying to be on stage! More than that, just going to a concert is like a new accomplishment (in this pandemic), if you come to think of it now!,” says Rao, who also got married recently to Ritesh Krishnan.
How’s married life treating her? She says, “We both are back to work, and didn’t want anything, the dynamics to change at all. Both of us like the way we are as individuals, and together like to do what we want. We are travel freaks, and hope we keep travelling. Nothing changes, marriage is just one day that celebration, your relationships as partners is supposed to be strong. We are hoping to have a blast.”
