Amidst talks of converting Rajesh Khanna's palatial Carter Road residence into a museum, the legendary actor's live-in partner Anita Advani has sent a legal notice to the family members to prevent her eviction from the house, reports Mid Day.
Advani who had been staying with the actor since last eight years has sent the notice under Domestic Violence Act.
What does the law say?
Section 19 of the Act bars the family from ‘dispossessing or in any other manner disturbing the possession of the aggrieved person from the shared household, whether or not the respondent has a legal or equitable interest in the shared household’.
“For the last one month, the family has been trying to oust Advani from the house, where she claims she has been living with Khanna for the last eight years. This is why she sent the notice,” a source told the tabloid.

Khanna's lover of eight years shared a cold vibe with the family for obvious reasons. “During the procession that started from the actor’s home, Advani attempted to climb into the vehicle carrying Kaka’s body. However, Akshay [Kumar] spotted Advani and asked her to get off, as the vehicle was only for family members,” a source was quoted by the tabloid.

I sent that notice when I was annoyed… without him, I had nowhere else to go. But I never thought I would actually lose him. The timing was really bad,” Anita told the tabloid.
Rumour mills suggest Anita Advani has also demanded a share of his property. Anita is the neice of the former president of the Philippines, Ferdinand Emmanuel Edralin Marcos and his wife Imelda Marcos. Advani is reportedly a childhood friend of the yesteryear superstar.

Blast from the past
Last year in an interview to Mid Day, Rajesh Khanna said he's very fond of Anita, but she's just a friend: "Anita and I have been known to each other for 32 years. She was in school then. We are just friends. She is a lovely person. I am very fond of her. But we haven't reached the stage of love."
Anita at that time said: "It's a very special, sacred relationship and I truly relish it. Unlike a normal relationship, there are no demands and expectations. This is much deeper."
