Anupama Parameswaran says she cried 24/7, had panic attacks and lost weight in her relationship: ‘I had to threaten him’

Anupama Parameswaran opened up in detail about the draining time in her past relationship with a manipulative person, which left her with emotional wounds.

Actor Anupama Parameswaran has caught the attention of many on social media with her detailed conversation about her past relationship, which she termed as ‘narcissistic abuse.’ Although she did not name the man, many quickly assumed it was Dhruv Vikram, her Bison Kaalamaadan co-star. In the second part of the conversation with Dhanya Varma that has now been released, Anupama detailed the extreme toll this relationship took on her health.

‘I would throw up and I would not eat anything’

Anupama Parameswaran has shared how narcissistic abuse in a relationship took a serious toll on her health.

Anupama went on to share that there was never a period of normalcy in the relationship; it was either extreme highs or extreme lows. She said, “There were times when this person would say, ‘Let’s end this,' and two days later he would say, ‘I can't live without you, baby!’ Then there would be a patch-up. When all this abuse was happening, I was going through my own battles in my life. When you are going through extreme anxiety, it affects you physically. Panic attacks, anxiety attacks, yes, blackouts, I was losing a lot of weight… I had none of this; I was a happy and normal child. My right eye even started twitching, and we had to stop shooting… it was such a condition. Some conversation would happen, and I would throw up, and I would not eat anything. I lost so much weight. I was crying every single night for hours and hours, and I would have to get up and go for a shoot. All of a sudden my lacrimal gland, it got swollen and I had to get surgery done… There was a lot more.”

‘I told this person that you are really affecting my peace’

Anupama said that this kept happening, and all of a sudden she saw something bizarre, and then something erupted. Both their families were involved, and the entire bubble broke. After a few days she needed to threaten that person for him to even talk to her. "Because they never take accountability for anything they do. I had a conversation, and in the last 10 seconds, when I saw him, I could see the mask peeling off, and I could see the demon,” she shared.

Anupama did not name anyone since she got candid on social media in July about going through a breakup. In early 2025, Anupama and Dhruv Vikram sparked rumours that they were dating when fans unearthed an unverified picture of them kissing, which they claimed was the display picture for their shared Spotify playlist.
