The actor loves shopping in London. She’s sentimental about her first Chanel bag
As Shamita Shetty dolls up for the shoot, and arranges her favourite shoes and bags, we hang out with her cats — Mishca and Queenie. They even pose for our photographer as he sets up the lights. Shetty emerges in white jeans and an orange top, as casual as you like. We don’t spot any accessories on her. She doesn’t like accessorising, she says. But she loves her shoes and denims.

Fashion mantra: “Don’t blindly follow any trend. Fashion is all about your own comfort. See what suits your body and experiment accordingly.”
Closet staple: “I love denims. Currently, I am going through a ripped jeans phase. You’ll always find T-shirts, a little black dress, and sweatpants in my wardrobe.”
Traditional shopper: “I cannot shop online. I am quite apprehensive of the concept. I would always want to feel the fabric or try the shoes or check the bag before making the purchase.”

My precious buy: “I don’t attach sentimental value to materialistic things. However, the first Chanel bag that I had bought myself is very dear to me. I am quite possessive about the bag. I had picked it up from London.”
Style matters: “Lace is my all-time favourite. I find lace outfits subtle and classy.”
London calling: “London may not be on a par with Paris or Milan in terms of being the fashion capital, but it is my favourite shopping destination. I have also lived there on my own for a while, so I connect with the city better. I enjoy shopping from Oxford Street, Sloane Street, and Kensington. When I am there, I often shop at Harrods, an upscale fashion store at Brompton Road in Knightsbridge, and Selfridges on Oxford Street.”
Do not accessorise: “I am not big on accessories. I like to keep my look minimal and simple. Mostly, I just pair a watch and diamond rings with my outfits. However, I absolutely love chandbalis (gold earrings), especially during festive occasions.”
Favourite brands: “I love All Saints, BCBG, Reiss, and Pinko. Among Indian designers, I love wearing Manish Malhotra, Tarun Tahiliani, and Rocky S.”
