When a fashion extravaganza takes place in a place like Goa, one thing is guaranteed that people soak in as much fashion as they soak in the scenic beauty of the place.
The inaugral edition of India Resort Fashion Week that was held from December 7-11 saw some seriously languid and carefree fashion apart from a sprinkling of fashionistas and celebrities.
On the last and final day of the event while designer Manish Malhotra showcased a collection that was dreamy and layered, designer Shantanu and Nikhil showed clothes that were contemporary with a hint of kitsch.
The off-site shows at the famous Marbela beach set the mood of beachy fashion in its true Goan style.
Burst of colours
Designers Shantanu and Nikhil chose the beautiful Marbela beach for their fashion showcase that had ex Miss Universe and actor Sushmita Sen walk as their showstopper.
Sen true to her trademark style wowed the guests with her graceful walk. Dressed in Blue and red flared goddess gown, Sen looked every inch a fashionista. Their outfits comprised of sensuous resort wear in rich riot of colours.
The Goan sunset and spectacular ocean as the backdrop formed a perfect canvas for outfits that comprised of flowy gowns and dresses. The mood of the moment trend colour blocking was also seen in the duo’s collection. The collection had elements of kitsch but a fine balance between minimalism was also seen.

The grand finale show by Bollywood favourite designer Manish Malhotra showed his resort collection for the very first time.
The splendid runway saw models walking in resort wear with an imaginative Indian twist. Malhotra showcased a series of sheer kurtas with bikini tops to get that beach girl feel.
There were also cropped pants amnd structured yet comfortable looking trousers. The colours that were seen included fuschia pinks, steel greys, soothing ivories and whites. There were also layered skirts worn over fitted tops or jackets.
Wearability remained one of the the key highlight of the outfits showcased.
