Fashion is surely going the carnivorous way! After Lady Gaga turned heads with her raw meat dress at MTV VMA, Kate Welsh appeared on
Tonight Show
wearing a sushi dress.
Apparently the
Private Practice
star wanted to pay tribute to Lady Gaga's meat dress. "It's a sushi and sashimi dress," Welsh told host Jay Leno.
Walsh appeared at the show dressed head to toe (literally) clad in Japanese cuisine. Her dress included a lobster tail on her shoulder complete with maki rolls, tuna, salmon, and edamame. She accessorised with a sushi ring and sunglasses. Interestingly her peep-toe Louis Vuitton heels was embellished with a prawn across her toes,

"It's homage, if you will, to Lady Gaga," Walsh explained of her outfit. "I was inspired by her meat dress."
Walsh decided to pay homage to Gaga's ensemble and also raise awareness for her charity, Oceana which aims to protect our planet and the oceans.
"I'm a huge fan of Lady Gaga. Whatever her statement was with her meat dress, I thought, why not give a shout out to one of my charities," Walsh explained.
Explaining why she decided to wear sushi, she concluded, "These are all totally sustainable fish, by the way."
