Salman Khan does it again
Last year he got the crème of male Bollywood actors to walk for him, this time it was the turn of the female brigadefashion and trends Updated: Oct 11, 2010 14:18 IST
If glamour is what a couture week is all about, there was lots of it at the Being Human Show put together by the Salman Khan Foundation on the fourth day of the HDIL India Couture Week. Of course, here the emphasis wasn’t really on the clothes that adhere to the high fashion theme. When you have Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor, Preity Zinta, Bipasha Basu, Sushmita Sen, Rani Mukherjee and Karisma Kapoor joining hands with Salman for his cause, guests don’t seem to care!
In any case when Bollywood stars come on the runway, who in the world ever looks at what they are wearing?! All gazes were fixed on the actors! In the other showing by Rina Dhaka, yet another actor, Anushka Sharma, appeared as the showstopper. Rina again seemed to have played around more with her creative side with four pieces of swimwear thrown in between the show.
The crowd was at its biggest for the Being Human Show. The hall was packed with people, and dotted along the front rows were Mumbai’s usual suspects. Crowd management inside the show area could have been better; even the fashion runway should have been done up better for a couple of shows.
At the jewellery showing, the white runway looked a wee bit shabby when joints were seen on the stairs and at the Being Human Show, the dark runway had splotches of white right in the middle where the fabrics were joined. The sides of the runway too were done without care, leaving it with a shoddy look.
Barring that, the event seems to be getting better by the year. This time the biggest catch was Shahab Durazi’s showing on Sunday which everyone is keenly waiting to watch!
