Pernia Qureshi, who regularly manages actor Sonam Kapoor’s red carpet looks, produces perhaps India’s first fashion short film. The story is set amidst a high society party where one guest’s ever-changing wardrobe provides an element of mystery.

It’s arguably India’s most fashionable short film. After Hours, stylist Pernia Qureshi’s dream project, will be launched on Youtube and on her own website today, as nothing more than an attempt to showcase her sartorial skills. “I wanted to do something creative and different where I could show off my aesthetics as a stylist without any inhibitions,” says Qureshi, who shot to fame for her efforts in styling Sonam Kapoor and her gang of girls in Aisha (2010).

Like all luxurious indulgences, it cost her around Rs 5 lakh to create the two-minute campaign pitch, using the technical skills of director Karan Boolani and hair and make-up support from Angelina Joseph.

“I used some of my good-looking friends from Delhi’s social circles along with two models. But I wanted a variety of shapes, sizes and ethnicities so that it looked real,” Qureshi explains, adding, “The story is set amidst a high society party where one guest’s ever-changing wardrobe and appearance provides an element of mystery.”

While the stylist has no plans of increasing the duration of her films, she does plan to create more of this kind to widen her repertoire. “It’s almost like a portfolio for me,” she reveals. “I plan to release another one around Diwali that will focus on ethnic and bridal wear.”
