Velvet for long has been the classic fashion buy and this season as the fashion savvy are seen sporting it, a Jimi Hendrix’s orange velvet jacket is in preparation for display in the exhibition ‘Hendrix in Britain’ at the Handel House Museum in London. The exhibition traces Hendrix’s rise to fame in the UK and marks the 40th anniversary of his death.
Hendrix bought the jacket in 1967, from the British designer Dandie Fashions and wore it during his performance in December 1967 at City Hall in Newcastle upon Tyne, England.
