Putin crushes US again? Russia expands economic footprint in Central Asia with Turkmenistan projects

Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed a forum in Turkmenistan marking the International Day of Neutrality and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s UN-recognized permanent neutrality. Putin praised President Serdar Berdimuhamedow and the Turkmen people for their balanced foreign policy and contributions to global security. He voiced strong support for the Ashgabat Declaration and highlighted the importance of UN principles such as peaceful coexistence and non-interference. Putin also stressed deepening Russia-Turkmenistan cooperation, noting 35% trade growth in 2025, major energy and transport projects, and expanding educational ties. He reaffirmed support for Turkmenistan as it prepares to chair the CIS in 2026.
