Actor suicide in Gurgaon: Bidisha’s husband produced in court, taken on police remand for a day

Bidisha’s husband, Nisheeth Jha, was arrested on the basis of a complaint filed by her father

Nisheeth Jha husband of deceased actress Bidisha Bezbaruah was produced in a Gurgaon local court by the police on Wednesday afternoon.

Jha was arrested under Section 306 of the IPC (abetment to suicide) and taken on one-day police remand.

Gurgaon police said that Jha will be questioned on his alleged role in the incident and the circumstances leading to his wife’s suicide. A promising actress, singer and television personality, Bidisha was found in her Gurgaon apartment on Monday evening.

A case was registered at Sushant Lok police station on the complaint of her father Aswini Bezbaruah.

“We have seized the mobile phones and laptop used by her husband and are also in the process of getting the call detail records of both the husband and wife. All angles in the case will be probed to bring out the truth,” Ravinder Kumar, PRO, Gurgaon police, said.

The police are also in the process of gathering more information about the couple from their social media accounts and will go through various posts on these sites to know more about their relationship.

Sources said before taking the extreme step on Monday, the actor called her father several times and spoke to him about the problems in her life. She also made a number of calls to her friends, the details of which the police is trying to obtain.

The deceased also spoke to a guard in the society, said a source.
