This came after the National Green Tribunal (NGT) had asked the board to create an area to dump the C&D waste and also recycle it.

“Following the NGT orders we are working jointly with the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) in setting up the C&D waste site. We will develop the site not just to dump the waste but also to recycle it,” said Bhupender Singh, regional officer, HSPCB.

The pollution board said that residents have complained that despite all measures, construction wastes are being dumped in many areas of the city.

According to the NGT norms, the construction and demolition waste causes health issues and it should not be dumped outside residential areas.

The city has been witnessing large scale dumping of C&D waste in many areas that include Sector 29, Golf Course Road, Sector 69, Sector 80, Golf Course Extension and Sector 30.
