Ben Affleck’s Batman film will have him up against a lot of villains

Ben Affleck will both act and direct the solo Batman film. The film will reportedly have all classic Batman villains such as Penguin, Riddler, Catwoman and Joker.

Ever since Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice dashed Warner hopes, the foundations of a DC universe have appeared shaky. Add The Flash director Seth Grahame-Smith leaving and Aquaman helmer James Wan planning to follow suit and what have you got?

Apparently Ben ‘Batman’ Affleck and a bevy of classic Batman villains. Affleck will star and possibly direct the solo Batman film which will see the comic hero going solo against a horde of villains including Penguin, Riddler, Catwoman, etc. By then, Suicide Squad would already have established Batman villains Deadshot (Will Smith), Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje), Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), and of course The Joker (Jared Leto), these characters are all up for easy cameos as well.

There is no clarity right now about who will play the principal villain, who will be seen leading this rogues gallery.

Apparently Affleck and producer Geoff Johns want to make “the definitive Batman film,” and populating the picture with all the iconic Batman villains is part of their plan at this point in time, according to Devin Faraci at Birth.Movies.Death.
