Kruger was also a part of a ‘choking’ scene in Tarantino’s movie Inglourious Basterds, but the actor said she was treated with a lot of respect.

In the NYT piece, Thurman also alleged that Tarantino forced her to drive an unsafe car as part of a stunt on the set of Kill Bill, which crashed and injured her.

Tarantino, on his part, has expressed regret for Thurman’s accident, calling it the “biggest mistake” of his life.

“For the record, however, I would like to say that my work experience with Quentin Tarantino was pure joy. He treated me with utter respect and never abused his power or forced me to do anything I wasn’t comfortable with,” she wrote.

The actor called the movement against sexual harassment post the Harvey Weinstein revelations an “important moment”.

“My heart goes out to Uma and anyone who has ever been the victim of sexual assault and abuse. I stand with you,” she said.

The director, who was criticised by Hollywood celebrities such as Jessica Chastain and Judd Apatow after Thurman’s interview, has landed in another controversy. In an old interview, which has resurfaced now, Tarantino is heard defending director Roman Polanski over charges of raping a 13-year-old girl.
