While Beresford is here for a film festival, he will also be directing an International film for India-born Hollywood filmmaker Krishna Shah, later this year.

Beresford is known for films such as Tender Mercies, Driving Miss Daisy and Breaker Morant. Shah is in conversation with a couple of major studios here for making this big-budget film. The film titled, Birth Of A Nation, is an epic war drama along the lines of Gandhi and Pearl Harbor.

The film will have late prime minister Indira Gandhi as the main protagonist and will talk about how she stood up to China, Nixon and the American Seventh Fleet and won the first war for India.

While Bruce will be here for three days, the casting of the film will start in a couple of months. While a new face for Indira's role is being considered, the rest of the cast will be a Hollywood-Bollywood mix. There will be many other major characters in the film like Jawaharlal Nehru, Sam Manekshaw, Yahya Khan and Mahatma Gandhi. Shah is negotiating the financial terms with Beresford's agent in LA.
