Spider-Man Homecoming trailer: Twitter can’t contain its love for Robert Downey Jr
The second Spider-Man: Homecoming trailer revealed major plot points and fleshed out Peter Parker’s relationship with his mentor Tony Stark. Twitter had positive things to say about Robert Downey Jr’s role.
The new Spider-Man: Homecoming trailer dropped Tuesday, and fans took to Twitter to dissect and over-analyse the footage.
Robert Downey Jr takes on a mentorship role in Peter Parker’s life.
What stood out the most was just how much of the plot the 2-and-a-half minute trailer crammed in. Tony Stark’s mentor-like relationship with Peter Parker and the villain Vulture’s anger at not just Spidey, but Iron Man, were the highlights.
Since the movie is still a few months away (100 days to go to be precise), the effects will probably take a while before they’re ready, but we did get glimpses of the big set pieces. One in particular, set on a ferry, seems to be the money shot (and a homage to the first Spider-Man movie which starred Tobey Maguire). Then, there was also the action scene which involved a crashing plane (which could possibly be a part of the film’s third act).
Fans took to Twitter to discuss what they thought of the trailer. We’ve selected a few reactions for you:
Spider-Man: Homecoming stars Tom Holland as Spidey, Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark, Zendaya, Donald Glover and Michael Keaton as the Vulture. It’s due out on July 7.
