On day 3 of the summit, foreign minister S Jaishankar said China broke all the agreements and accords which governed the ties between the two countries. "We have made it clear that the state of relationship will reflect the state of the border. You can't have a tense, high-friction border and have great relations in all other parts of life. It doesn't work that way. It is inevitable that this will spill over and it has in other domains," said the Union minister.

The Hindustan Times Leadership Summit was launched in 2003 to enhance the level of discourse on critical issues, encourage interaction among leaders in important areas and present international quality thought- platforms aimed at solutions. The last 18 Summits have been outstanding successes with attendance by leaders from India and across the world. The audience comprises senior politicians, bureaucrats, diplomats, business executives, thinkers, commentators and analysts. Over the years, the Summit has become one of India’s most prestigious and eagerly awaited fora.
