A seven-year-old girl was abducted and raped by a man in Uttar Pradesh's Mathura. As per a report, the girl was kidnapped by a man as she slept next to her mother at night and raped at a nearby crematorium.

As reported by news agency PTI, the accused has been identified as Rahul and was arrested for the crime. Circle Officer (Chhata) Bhushan Verma revealed that the incident took place on Wednesday night in Surwari village under the Kosikalan police station area.
The accused allegedly smashed a window to break into the victim's residence and abducted her while she was sleeping next to her mother. He gagged the victim and dragged her to a crematorium nearby.
The father and other family members were unaware of the incident since they were fast asleep in the next room, officials reported. The victim's family first came to know of the matter when they woke up the next morning and discovered the girl was missing.

A search party was soon launched to find the girl, who was found an hour later, lying unconscious at the crematorium outside the village. A case was registered against the accused by the victim's family.
The accused has been charged under relevant sections, while the victim has been sent for a medical examination. Further legal proceedings in the matter are now underway, Verma added.
