Journalist Vinod Verma, who was arrested from Ghaziabad by Chhattisgarh police in connection with an alleged case of blackmailing and extortion, was sent to police custody for two days by a Raipur court on Sunday.

The court premises saw high drama around 7pm when journalists alleged police roughed them up and even molested them when they tried to talk to Verma, who is under the scanner for allegedly trying to blackmail a Chhattisgarh minister with a purported sex CD.
Three women journalists with local news channels alleged that police personnel molested them when they tried to get Verma’s reaction as he was being escorted out of court.
