“Abbas, resident of Kamalkot (Baramulla) employed with the Army lost his life in an unprovoked firing at around 11:30 a.m,” he said, adding that the Indian side strongly retaliated to the attack.

An 18 year-old Nasreena Bano of Marian village was also injured in the firing.

Due to heightened tensions between the two Armies on the LoC, no traditional exchange of sweets and greetings took place on Diwali.
