However, gold prices in India on Thursday rose by ₹5,510 for 24-carat gold, trading at ₹1,59,730 per 10 grams. Similarly, 22-carat gold was priced at ₹1,46,440 per 10 grams, registering a gain of ₹5,050. Meanwhile, silver prices also strengthened, with the metal quoted at ₹3,37,100 per kg.

Global market cues
Gold and silver prices dropped sharply on Thursday amid a wider market sell-off, as a stronger dollar and signs of easing US-China trade tensions weighed on precious metals.
Spot gold fell 1.7% to $4,876.12 per ounce by 0402 GMT, slipping from a near one-week high touched earlier in the session. Meanwhile, US gold futures for April delivery also declined 1.1% to $4,896.30 per ounce. Spot silver also slumped 12.4%, falling to $77.09 an ounce.
In the Asian market, silver plunged by as much as 15%, while gold fell up to 3.5%, marking a sharp reversal after two days of recovery from a historic market sell-off that began on Friday.
The precious metals came under pressure because of a global sell-off in technology stocks that spread to Asian markets as investors grew increasingly nervous about high valuations and heavy spending on artificial intelligence. As risk aversion rose, investors cut back on exposure across markets.

MCX Gold, Silver prices LIVE: Futures fall on stronger US dollar
Gold and silver prices fell sharply on Thursday, ending a two-day recovery, as weakness in global markets and a stronger US dollar weighed on precious metals.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), silver futures for March delivery plunged 10 per cent, or ₹26,850, to ₹2,42,000 per kg, after closing at ₹2,68,850 per kg in the previous session.
Gold futures for April delivery also declined, slipping 1.51 per cent or ₹2,310 to ₹1,50,736 per 10 grams, compared with Wednesday’s close of ₹1,53,046 per 10 grams.
