The Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs (CCPA) will meet soon to finalise the schedule, though November 13 is said to be the tentative date.

Sources in the parliamentary affairs ministry said the winter session could be short as members will be busy campaigning in Gujarat, the home state of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah.

Election to the 182-member assembly is expected to be announced anytime soon, while the counting of votes has been slated for December 18.

Last year, the winter session went on for one month from November 16 to December 16. Soon after, the first part of the budget session commenced on January 31 this year and ended on February 9. The second phase began on March 9 and culminated on April 12.
