The 80-year-old US President - Joe Biden - who is seeking a second White House term in 2024 - shrugged off the concerns about his age on Thursday, saying that he “feels good and excited”. Biden is the oldest US president ever in the country, and if he wins the second term, he will be 86 by the time he steps down. While the President's re-election bid is historic, it is also seen as a risky gamble for the Democratic Party.

During a press conference alongside South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol in the White House Rose Garden, Biden addressed his age concerns and said, “I respect them taking a hard look at it. I'd take a hard look at it as well - I took a hard look at it before I decided to run,” reported news agency AFP.
He jokingly said, “I can't even say I guess how old I am. I can't even say the number…it doesn't register.”
The US President also said that he was confident about what is likely to be a grueling election battle. “People are going to find out. They are going to see a race and they are going to judge whether I have it or don't have it,” he said.
