Highlights: Ireland administers 500,000 Covid-19 vaccine doses

The global coronavirus tally is over the 116 million-mark with the death toll crossing 2.5 million, as per the John Hopkins University coronavirus tracker.

The coronavirus caseload in the country has reached over 11.17 million with a death toll of 157,656, as of Saturday, according to the Union health ministry data. The Covid-19 cases in the country are rising again in some parts of the country. Six states, Maharashtra, Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Delhi, are witnessing a spike in the daily coronavirus cases.     Iraq reports 4,068 new Covid-19 cases

    Iraqi on Saturday added 4,068 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total nationwide infections to 723,189, according to the health ministry. Eleven new deaths pushed the toll to 13,548 while recoveries are over 657,000.

    Punjab's daily Covid cases cross 1,000 for the second time this month

    Punjab on Saturday logged 1,179 fresh Covid-19 cases and 12 more deaths which pushed the overall tally to more than 187,000. This is the second time that the daily figures crossed the 1,000 mark in March. Saturday's tally is also the highest in the state since the last five months.
