India is currently witnessing the second wave of Covid-19 as several states report their highest-ever single day surges since the onset of the pandemic. Maharashtra continues to be the worst affected state, recording above 63,000 new cases on Sunday. The state government hinted that the imposition of a lockdown in the state due to rising number of cases was likely after April 14. A decision on the lockdown is set to be taken at the next cabinet meeting.
