Several Opposition parties met at the Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge’s Chamber in the Parliament Building to chalk out a strategy on Adani-Hindenburg and other issues for the ongoing budget session on Monday.
The MPs of the Congress, DMK, NCP, BRS, JD(U), Samajwadi Party, CPM, CPI, Kerala Congress (Jose Mani), JMM, RLD, RSP, AAP, Indian Union Muslim League, RJD and Shiv Sena attended the meeting. This was the second such meeting in a week.
The Congress party had called the meeting of the Opposition parties before the commencement of the session to take everyone onboard over the Adani row as it plans to further corner the Centre on the matter.

The Congress has also planned a nationwide protest today to ‘draw’ the government’s attention to the concerns of SBI, LIC, and PNB's investment into Adani.
Top points on Parliament session:
1) In its plan to hold nationwide protests, the Congress’s youth wing NSUI will hold the protests outside the banks located at Parliament police station, and party MPs will protest near the Gandhi statue inside Parliament.
2) “The government is hell-bent on helping Modiji's friends to loot public money. The Congress party has decided to hold a nationwide protest on 6th Feb 2023, in front of LIC & SBI offices. We also demand a JPC probe or a CJI-led inquiry in the humongous Adani scam," the party had said announcing its protest program.

3) While most parties want a resumption of debate, they remain divided over the demand for a joint parliamentary committee to look into the Adani issue, HT had reported earlier. While the Congress and its allies are seeking a parliamentary panel probe, others, including the Trinamool Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party, want a Supreme Court-monitored probe.
4) The opposition leaders have indicated that while protests are likely to continue for the first half, they want discussions to start from 2 pm on Monday. "Unless the Union government themselves disrupt Parliament the debate for the Motion of Thanks to the President will begin in both Houses on Monday 6 Feb at 2 pm," Trinamool Congress MP Derek O' Brien said in a tweet.
5) The Congress on Sunday also posed three questions, questioning the “eloquent silence” of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the “Adani MahaMegaScam”. “We will be posing 3 questions to the PM daily beginning today on the series HAHK-Hum Adanike Hain Kaun. Here are the first three,” senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh tweeted, raking up the issue of Vinod Adani, Gautam Adani's brother, who was named in the Panama Papers and the Pandora Papers.
