Three MBA students, including a woman, drowned on Thursday in the backwaters of the Mulshi dam, about 50 km from Pune.

According to the police, the tragedy took place when the trio, part of a 10-member group of students, was taking a swim in the backwaters of the dam, a popular picnic spot on the city’s outskirts. The deceased were identified as Sangita Negi, Shubham Sinha and Shiv Kumar, all aged 22 . The students were pursuing Masters in Business Administration (MBA) at the Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed to be University, police said.

While Negi was from Delhi, Sinha was from Patna and Kumar was from Uttar Pradesh.
