Union human resource development minister Prakash Javadekar has described Pakistan’s latest posturing on Kashmir by constantly needling India as an effort to address its domestic constituency.
Javadekar who was addressing the media at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Mohali on Friday, was asked about what India’s strategy should be in response to Pakistan Air Force carrying out an exercise of landing and take-off on a key highway on Thursday.
“Pakistan knows it cannot win against India and thus is resorting to subversive activities,” the minister. “Pakistan is just trying to register its presence and nothing else. Our security agencies are monitoring all such activities.”
The Lahore-Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway was closed down on Thursday for vehicular traffic to let PAF war planes practice landing in the wake of any emergency.
The PAF has insisted that the fighters landed on the motorway as part of exercise ‘High Mark’, which was planned much before the Uri attack which has sent Indo-Pak ties into a nosedive.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi is himself supervising and strategising how to respond to the Uri attack. The results will soon be visible so it is not proper to talk on this issue.Kashmir is inseparable part of India, People have their own expectation which we honour,” Javadekar said.
