The video, claiming fresh attacks on churches by right-wing activists, was circulated widely on WhatsApp just after the results of assembly elections were out on May 15.

But it was found to be a copy of the attacks on churches that occurred in September, 2008, police said.

They said a suo motu case was registered in this connection and after investigations, Sunil Veigas (34) and PP Sachit (23), residents of Chikkamagalur district, were arrested on May 30.
