The bus, which belonged to Loyola Institute of Technology and Management of Sattenapalli, was on its way from the college to Narsaraopet town carrying more than 50 students.

According to the Guntur police, Mettu Veera Reddy of Narasraopet town was driving the bus to its destination after the college hours in the evening. As the bus reached Chagantivaripalem village of Muppalla block, Reddy suffered a massive heart attack and he lost control of the vehicle.

Within seconds, the bus ran amok and rammed into a motor bike killing two persons on the spot. The deceased were identified as Anakallu Srinivas Reddy (60) and his mother-in-law Srirangamma (75). They were returning from their fields.

The students got panicky and rushed to the wheel only to find the driver collapsed in his seat. With great difficulty, they somehow managed to bring the vehicle under control and apply brakes.

The bodies of the deceased were sent to Narsaraopet hospital for post-mortem and a case of unnatural death was registered under Section 174 of Cr PC.
