Vedanta share price fell by over three per cent on Thursday even as due to a combination of domestic and international factors. Apart from Vedanta, several metal stocks saw a fall their prices, with Hindustan Zinc emerging as the worst-performing metal stock.
The share price of Vedanta Ltd stood at 603.55, down by around 3 per cent, according to data on bseindia.com viewed at 6 pm on Thursday.
The share price of Hindustan Zinc Ltd was 590, around 6.09 per cent down at the same period. Meanwhile, National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) and Hindustan Copper also witnessed falling stock prices on Thursday.
The decline in the metal stocks coincided with a drop in base metal and silver prices as the revenues, margins, and cash flows of these firms are closely linked to global prices.
The market witnessed a deep dive on Thursday, with Sensex falling 0.92 per cent and Nifty 50 dropping by over 1 per cent. The fall was attributed to a series of factors: speculation of rising US tariff, selling by foreign investors and selling in heavyweight stocks.

{{/usCountry}}The 30-share BSE Sensex declined 255.86 points to 84,705.28 in early trade. The 50-share NSE Nifty went down by 65.9 points to 26,074.85, according to data mentioned in a PTI news agency report.
Among the 30 Sensex firms, Tata Consultancy Services, Asian Paints, Maruti, Tech Mahindra, Infosys and UltraTech Cement were the top laggards.
ICICI Bank, Adani Ports, Bharat Electronics and Hindustan Unilever were among the gainers.
