A day after being mauled by dogs in Thiruvananthapuram, a fisherman succumbed to his injuries on Monday.

Forty-five-year-old Joseclin was attacked late on Sunday night and later taken to a hospital where he died.
The incident is the latest in a series of such instances with at least 60,000 bite cases having been reported last year.
On this April, stray dogs killed and partially ate an 85-year-old man in Kerala, while last year an elderly woman met a similar fate. The woman’s death had triggered a mass attack on dogs in the state.
Last week, the Supreme Court ordered the Kerala government to pay a compensation of Rs 33.37 lakh to 19 victims of dog bites.
Hearing a clutch of petitions, the court directed all local bodies and panchayats to abstain from culling stray dogs. Many activists are now facing cases.
