The police on Friday booked 80 people on a charge of vandalising Narnaul superintendent of police's (SP) house. Of the accused, 15 have been identified.
On Thursday, a 17-year-old boy, whose name is being withheld as he is a minor, was kidnapped by unidentified people when he was returning from school. On not finding the boy, the family hurled stones at the SP's house. No one was injured. The family said they had informed the police a month ago about receiving threat calls to kidnap the boy but the police did not provide security.
The protesters were booked under Sections 148 (rioting), 149 (unlawful assembly), 341(wrongful restraint) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and relevant sections of the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act.
Meanwhile, the police found the boy from New Delhi on Thursday night. Based on the boy's complaint, a case has been registered against Kuldeep and Shobit of Naseebpur village near Narnaul under Sections 365 (kidnapping) and 341 (wrongful restraint) of the IPC, the police have said.
"The case is a suspected one, as the boy claims that he was kidnapped from the Narnaul bus stand at 3pm on Thursday. This cannot be true because it is a busy area and impossible to kidnap anyone from there," a police official said.
The boy reportedly told the police that Kuldeep and Shobit took him to Delhi in an SUV and later released him near Kashmiri Gate.
