Aishwarya lifts under-18 title
AISHWARYA AGARWAL of Indore thrashed Tejaswani Narayana of Delhi 6-0 6-1 to win the girls under-18 title in the All India Junior Talent Series tournament organised jointly by M P Tennis Association and Indore Tennis Club played at their courts today.

In a repeat of the semifinal yesterday where Aishwarya beat Tejaswini’s younger sister Pooja, the local player never allowed her opponent to come into the match.
Aishwarya kept her same tempo and never looked back from the first service. She easily won the first set never allowing her opponent to snatch a game to take 1-0 lead.
In the second set Tejaswani tried to come back in the game but failed to hold the service and was running round the court to hit back ball in vain.
She managed to win a game but later on Aishwarya showed her class and never looked back to win the set 6-1 and the coveted title.
Aishwarya’s winning spree continued from Sri Lanka where she won the championship. The best part of her was the placements and powerful service, which puts opponent in to back foot.
In other matches, semifinal matches were played in the age groups of under-14, 18 and doubles finals apart from girls under-18 finals.
In the under-14 boys first semifinals Sourabh Raghuvanshi of MP defeated Arpit Sharma of Rajasthan in the thrilling match. Sourabh won the first set with difficulty as Arpit played brilliantly to loose the set 5-7.
In the second set, Arpit showed his class, corrected his first set mistakes, and came back in the game to beat Sourabh
6-4 to level 1-1.
In the decider, local lad pulled up his socks and won 6-3 to sail into the finals. In the second semifinals Arkesh Chouhan of MP beat Farman Ahmed of UP in straight sets 6-3 6-3, to set-up title clash with Sourabh.
In the under-18 year first semifinals, Deependra Bains of Punjab shocked Madhav Patidar of MP 6-3 6-3 to steer into finals.
In the second semifinals Rohan Shah of MP beat fellow state mate Rahul Singroly 6-4 6-1 to sail into finals. Surabh Raghuvanshi/ Nakul Rawal showed their class in boys under-14 doubles finals to defeat Arkesh Chouhan and Arpit Sharma in the thrilling finals 6-4 2-6 7-6 (5) to win the title. In the boys under-18 doubles finals Madhav Patidar/Keshav Patidar defeated Shivaswaroop/Sameer Paranjpe 6-0 2-6 6-3 to win the title.
The boys singles finals in the under-14 and under-18 groups would be played tomorrow from 4 pm onwards.
