Allahabad Museum is all set to revive the heroic saga of martyr Chandra Shekhar Azad. The little known facts about this personality will be unfolded through the black and white photographs which will arouse the interest of the visitors.
The museum staff is recently working on the photographs and written facts about Azad so that it could be displayed in the form an exhibition in the coming July.
Black and white photographs retrieved from National Archives, New Delhi, are being enlarged. Most of the incidents associated with Azad and the period of struggle for freedom are displayed in those photographs which are almost 20 in number.
What was the appearance of the 'Kakori Conspiracy Case' file? Well, the photograph of the file is there for the visitors. "Pictures were so old and worn out that much effort was needed to bring clarity to the figures," said, Sanjay Kumar incharge of the photography department.
The only portrait style photo of the patriot is also available which was taken after he shot himself dead in the Company Garden here. "Actually, the photo was manipulated," said RK Mishra, incharge manuscripts department, who is collecting the facts to be displayed as write-ups during the exhibition.
"For the write-up I took help of the books of four writers- Dharmendra Gaur, the retired CID officer, Vishwanath Rao Vaishampayan, Manmath Nath Gupt and Phoolchand Jain. Besides, the support of newspaper clippings was also of invaluable help", said Mishra. According to the write-up prepared by Mishra, only few traces of the ashes were left to be immersed in Ganga at Kashi after performing the last rites of Azad.

{{/usCountry}}"In an interesting incident, a huge gathering was held at Purushottamdas Tandon Park here where people had gathered to pay floral tributes to Azad. Suddenly, the wife of patriot Sachindranath Sanyal took a pinch of ashes and said that she came to take the ashes of Azad, like she did for Khudiram Bose.
Others followed suit and thus only a few traces were left at last to be immersed in Ganga," said Mishra. "The final date of the exhibition has to be decided. I hope the display studded with such interesting and surprising facts about the life of the martyr will create interest among the visitors to know more about him," he added.
