Anju misses 6.60m mark again

Long jumper Anju Bobby George made another attempt at achieving the World Championship qualifying mark today but failed again.

Long jumper Anju Bobby George made another attempt at achieving the World Championship qualifying mark on Friday but failed again. Anju jumped 6.42metres in the National Combined Events and Jumps Competition at the Baburao Sanas Ground here. But it was still way short of the qualifying mark of 6.60 metres that would clinch her ticket to Osaka, Japan, for the event in August.

She cleared 6.21 and 6.28 metre in the Asian Grand Prix meet in Pune and Guwahati recently.
