In previous seasons, only a handful of designers have understood the need for styles that suit top- or hip - heavy women, and are relaxed around the waist. This time around, there’s a refreshing increase in the number of such designers. Be it because they realise the size of the market they’d been missing out on, or the fact that thinner women are also showing an affinity for looser clothing – it’s a win-win situation.

Our top picks were the sporty apparel at Huemn and Ilk by Shikha and Vinita, some chic dresses by Sabyasachi and Verb by Pallavi Singhee, as well as casual, boho designs at two very strong shows – Krishna Mehta and Ka Sha by Karishma Shahani Khan. Vaishali S, who has constantly championed a one-size-fits-all motto, deserves a mention too.
