The models may be thin as ever, but they’re finally walking down the ramp in designs that fit the typical Indian body type that the rest of us have.
In previous seasons, only a handful of designers have understood the need for styles that suit top- or hip - heavy women, and are relaxed around the waist. This time around, there’s a refreshing increase in the number of such designers. Be it because they realise the size of the market they’d been missing out on, or the fact that thinner women are also showing an affinity for looser clothing – it’s a win-win situation.
